1. Who we are

Utalio ("Utalio," "we," "us") operates the website at utalio.net (the "Service"). The Service provides general information and personalized, automatically generated plans for people considering a move to Italy.

2. Not legal, immigration, tax or financial advice

Utalio is an information service, not a law firm, immigration consultant, tax advisor, financial advisor or real estate agent. Nothing on the Service, including your personalized plan, guides, city pages and residency pages, is legal, immigration, tax, financial, investment or real estate advice. Using the Service does not create an attorney–client, advisor–client or any other professional relationship.

Italian immigration, citizenship and tax rules change frequently, and they vary by consulate, comune and personal circumstances. Before you act, verify everything with official Italian authorities, the Italian consulate for your jurisdiction, a licensed Italian lawyer (avvocato), a commercialista, or a cross-border tax professional.

3. AI-generated plans

Personalized plans are generated automatically. Utalio's scoring engine selects options from our curated database, and an AI model (provided by Anthropic) writes the plan. AI output can be incomplete, outdated or wrong, even when it sounds confident. You are responsible for evaluating any plan before relying on it. When the AI is unavailable, plans are produced from our database alone.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use the Service.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to provide false information to any authority.
• Scrape, crawl or bulk-download content, or send automated requests to our plan generator, without our written permission.
• Attempt to bypass rate limits, probe or disrupt our systems, or introduce malware.
• Try to make the AI produce harmful, misleading or unlawful content, or misrepresent AI output as professional advice.
• Click on our ads fraudulently or encourage others to do so.

We may limit, suspend or block access to anyone who violates these Terms.

6. Your content

You keep any rights you have in what you type into the quiz, including the optional notes field. You give us a limited license to process it, including sending it to our AI provider, solely to generate your plan and operate the Service. Please don't include sensitive personal information such as passport numbers, financial account numbers or health details.

7. Our content and intellectual property

The Service's design, text, guides, data compilations, logos and the Utalio name belong to Utalio or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages, and share or print your own plan, for personal, non-commercial use. You may not republish, sell or create derivative databases from our content without permission. Brief quotations with a link back to the source page are welcome.

8. Advertising and third-party links

The Service is free and supported by advertising, including Google AdSense. We also link to third-party websites such as government portals, housing sites and communities. We don't control, and are not responsible for, third-party ads, websites, products or services. Your dealings with them are solely between you and the third party.

9. Accuracy of information

Figures such as rents, house prices, salaries, fees, income thresholds and processing times are approximate and may be out of date. We try to keep content current and note when pages were last updated, but we make no guarantee that any information is accurate, complete or current.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Utalio and its owners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, opportunities or expenses. This includes visa refusals, citizenship outcomes, tax liabilities, property purchases or relocation costs arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed US$100. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Utalio harmless from claims, damages and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

13. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date above will change, and continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer protection rights you have under the laws of the country where you live.
